Love list...

A few things I love:

Car windows down on a warm summer night

A perfect volleyball serve

Dashboard drumming

The silence of snowfall

Unspoken understandings

Talking till dawn with an awesome friend

Over sized soft hoodies

When being brave pays off

Cream soda and honey turkey deli sandwiches

Star gazing

Doing something no one believes I would

Strawberry red toes

37" inseam WOMEN'S jeans

Songs that make me cry

A checked off to do list

Oldschool Mechwarrior, Commander Keene and Wolfenstein games

Sandra Bullock's movie wardrobes

Thanksgiving dinner (minus the yams)

Waking up without an alarm

Christmas lights (especially on Temple Square)

THIS GIGGLE RIGHT HERE!!!

Gobble Gobble

At ONE of our Thanksgiving dinners with dear friends (yes, we were definitely feeling the love), the Kiddo and I were asked/expected to wear the Turkey Hat while we said what we were thankful for.

Jar = STUFFED!

All Aboard!

I decided to take the Kiddo for his first ride on Trax. I made the mistake of telling him where we were going BEFORE I put him down for his nap, but assured him that as soon as he woke up, we'd go. He popped up wide awake after just 45 min saying, "Wake up! Trains! Woo woo! All aboard."
We parked on the north side of Temple Square and walked (he ran) to the closest station.

A transit officer approached us and I started to reach for our tickets to show him. But rather than looking at me, his attention was directed at the Kiddo, handing him a sticker.

He filled my jar, and based on the reactions to his enthusiasm from our fellow passengers, I think he filled a few more today as well.

The Impossible Dream

I had a dream a little while ago. I don't dream very often, let alone have them make much sense OR remember them for long after I wake up, yet I wrote the details of this one down for some reason. Here's what I remember (it's not really organized very well, just random thoughts):
(don't get technical with how it's held up!)
A bridge. Free to cross. No cars, but large crowds of people. It seemed like they walked it daily - a commute. It's precarious looking, but not wobbly - secure. Has huge hills. I can't see the rest
of the bridge because I'm standing at one end and the first hill looms in front of me. It feels like I'm looking straight up to see the top of the hill. The incline seems to cross back into a negative angle where I'd fall off - not even letting me think about how I'd get down the other side OR the other hills afterward.
No known destination past the bridge. The first hill is where my focus is. I'm scared. I don't know how it's possible to navigate. I feel like if I get up enough speed (running? *shr
ug*) to possibly make it up the hill, I'll
fly off. The bridge is over water. There is no one familiar around me, and everyone seems to think nothing of the situation. They just keep
walking.

I know this isn't the most "heavenly" topic, but it wasn't really a nightmare, just a dream that I wanted to remember because it seemed rather fitting with my life right now.

Victor Hugo from my mother

A card came in the mail from my mother. It read:

"Be as a bird, perched on a frail branch that she feels bending beneath her, still she sings, sings, knowing she has wings. - Victor Hugo

Trust your instincts. You will soar. Loving you! Mother"

Filled my jar!

I decided to see how the Kiddo would do in a movie theater. He's almost 3 and is starting to be entertained for more than a few seconds by some movies. We went to see Up. It was better than expected. I actually cried (which totally caught my son off guard). He did well! We had to shift positions a few times, sitting on either side of me, on my lap, laying with his head on my knee... but we survived!

Best moment:
One of the characters in the movie said, "Hey there!"
Kiddo responded, "Hiiii!"
Audience laughed.
